Congratulations to Anderson High School girls tennis coach Joe Leytze on being selected for induction into the Oak Hills High School Hall of Fame on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Mr. Leytze is a 1979 graduate of Oak Hills High School and is considered one of the best tennis players to ever compete at Oak Hills and the greater Cincinnati area. During his senior season his record was an amazing 30-1, including 12 straight post season victories. He was advanced to the state semi finals. For his efforts, Mr. Leytze was named Oak Hills MVP and Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Year in 1979.

He attended the University of Kentucky where he went on to have an outstanding collegiate career. Mr. Leytze was ranked as high as No. 22 in the nation and was twice named All SEC. During his senior season in 1983, he qualified for the Men’s NCAA Division I tournament. In 1990 Joe was inducted into the University of Kentucky Tennis Hall of Fame.

Following his college career, Mr. Leytze played on the professional tennis tour for three years.  In 1985 he played in a qualifying round for a spot at Wimbledon. He has also twice won the Cincinnati MET title. Recently, Mr. Leytze was inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Hall of Fame.

Mr. Leytze currently coaches tennis at Anderson High School. He and his wife Kelly live in Anderson with their daughters, Lydia and Sophie.

The Lady Redskins defeated the Mason Comets on Wednesday evening to advance to the second round where they'll take on the Milford Eagles on Saturday, October 20th at at 2:30 p.m. at Lakota East High School.  Come out and support your Lady Redskins as they attempt to advance in the Division 1 bracket.
